Domain Name Registration
What is a domain name?
A domain name is a "unique" name used to identify and locate computers on the Internet. Internet domain names provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses which are translated by DNS (Domain Name Servers) into numeric IP (Internet Protocol) addresses used by the Internet.
Domain Registration
Domain names can be registered through many different companies (known as "registrars") that compete with one another.
If you are looking for a registrar, check out Tera-Byte, or NamesPro.
The registrar you choose will ask you to provide various contact and technical information which
will be stored in a central WHOIS directory known as the "registry."
This registry provides other computers on the Internet the information necessary to contact you or to find your web site.
Domain Name Server (DNS)
In order to ultilize our hosting services, you must enter the following DNS information as part of your registration. Please remove any additional non-myapple.ca entries from your DNS settings.
Primary Nameserver: ns1.myapple.ca
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.myapple.ca
Once you have registered your domain and signed up to a hosting package with us, your new domain should start working within 2-3 days. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
